Hello, Hello, Do you think we are ever going to get to uncover our Vettes and drive them again? I think I am just going to go sit in mine in the garage, raise the door and maybe start it up and listen to the engine and exhaust for awhile. I believe that would make me feel better. But we are going to do some things anyway. So here we are almost in the first week of February, and it looks like it is going to be a busy week for our club. Starting off tomorrow night, Monday, February 1st, we are changing our first Monday cruise-in location from the Chow Time to Portofino's in East Ridge. We will meet there at 6pm. Next is our first Friday cruise-in at Wendy's in Fort Oglethorpe. We will be there around 7pm on Friday, February 5th. Now, you really don't want to miss this one if you are a true Corvette enthusiast! On Saturday, February 6th, we have an appointment for our club to tour Greg Wyatt's facility and view his Corvette collection. We have been there before, but we understand his collection changes from time to time. We will meet at the Shell station in Lafayette at noon, travel as a group to Summerville, take the tour and then onto Rome for a late lunch. Hope to see you at one or all Save the Wave, HOT line 4236977684 Jo Ann |

ABOUT US…WHO ARE WE? As a club, we are community oriented. In the past, we have supported various activities for charitable purposes, including Toy Runs at Christmas, bringing toys to underprivileged children in Walker and Catoosa counties. We have participated in car shows that benefited mission trips to foreign countries. We work along side the Optimist Club in their efforts of working with deserving children. Participation in the Relay For Life is a major activity that eventually culminates in our yearly “Show ‘N Drag”. Annually, we sponsor a car show, and for the strong of heart, we also sponsor a drag race at the Brainerd Optimist Drag Strip. A large portion of our proceeds are given to the American Cancer Society for ongoing research as well as assistance for local neighbors who are experiencing problems due to cancer. In 2008 we had the privilege of making a sizeable donation to help a local young man acquire an “assist” dog. We were proud to have been able to provide a wheelchair for a young man when other avenues were closed to him. The activities we have been involved with are numerous. It’s a wonderful feeling to be able to give back. |
